Powder Garden Formula

An old cream-painted dressing table in the late afternoon — a powder compact lying open beside its pink puff and a light dust of powder, a small glass vase of pale carnations and lily of the valley, an ivory silk scarf and a few almonds. The first breath is clean and bright: bergamot and lavender, a touch of lemon and a green snap of stems. Then the garden blooms in powder — lily of the valley and rose, carnation warmed with clove, white jasmine, all dusted with soft iris and violet. It settles into sweet almond, heliotrope and vanilla over clean musk, cedar and creamy sandalwood, with a faint glow of incense: soft, nostalgic and quietly elegant for hours.
