Accord

Rose accord

A rose accord is the scent of the rose, from fresh and dewy to deep and jammy. It is one of the most widely used hearts in perfumery.

How a Rose accord is built

Rose is usually built around rosy alcohols such as citronellol, geraniol and phenethyl alcohol. Small amounts of damascones and rose oxide give it fruit and lift, and honeyed esters add depth. The balance between fresh, green-rose and dark, jammy rose comes from how these are weighted.
