Green Bough Formula

An orchard at first light. A low bough still wet with dew, two hard green apples and a pear beside them. The first breath is the crisp bite of a green apple, with juicy pear, a little pineapple and the peel of mandarin and orange, lifted by cool, clean morning air and freshly snapped leaves. Then lily of the valley opens under the fruit — watery and dewy, with transparent jasmine, a rosy petal, yellow mimosa and a breath of violet. As it dries, a clean musk keeps the apple's shimmer, resting on velvet woods and a little amber: green, bright and quietly sweet, like a bough still dripping with the morning dew.
