The power of traces

Only five small warm materials sit among the white flowers here, together a small share of the formula: a sweet, hyacinth-like balsam carries most of the warmth, with a touch of vanilla, a heady blossom note, a trace of carnation and a cool thread of wintergreen. Against a large, transparent jasmine material and a near-scentless balsam floor, that small share is enough to turn the white petals gently golden without the scent becoming a spice — like flowers resting in the shade of a midday garden.

Holding fleeting notes

How the largest part of the formula barely smells at all — three balsamic materials and a mild floral alcohol form a smooth, slow floor that keeps the light flowers on the skin for hours.

Reading regulations

How a limit shapes a formula: the carnation material, very strong and restricted in the EU, was lowered to a trace and weighed as a one-tenth solution, so the suggested fine fragrance stays within its limit — a stronger fragrance than suggested would cross that line.
