What we believe

Scent is a universal language.

Scent needs no interpreter. In Tokyo, in New York, in London and in Paris, a rose reaches us as the same rose. The sense that recognises a beautiful scent is given to everyone.

Yet perfumery was long a world open to only a few. A single fine formula could be worth more than ten thousand US dollars, and good formulas stayed inside a handful of companies. Countless perfumers with every bit of the sense it takes had to feel their way alone, unable to find formulas to learn from. GrassAccord began in order to open that closed door. Anyone who understands scent should be able to hold a good formula in their hands, learn from it and go on to create scents of their own. That is why we do this work.

Open a formula and you see how the scent in a bottle comes together: which materials open the first impression and which remain to the very end, and how the scent changes when a proportion shifts. Understanding gathered this way leads, in time, to more beautiful scents of your own.
