More than half of this formula is white flowers, and yet the first thing anyone notices is green. The sharpest green materials make up less than two parts in a hundred, but they sit in the opening, where the nose meets them first, and they are strong enough to colour everything that follows. A softer green petal and a smooth green wood then carry that impression into the heart, so the bouquet keeps its cool, leafy edge long after the cut-stem flash is gone — like white cyclamen that still smells of its leaves.
