Transparency

About a third of this formula is citrus, led by sweet orange peel, yet the scent does not collapse once the peel has faded. Nearly a quarter of the batch is one airy, transparent jasmine material that carries the brightness on into a see-through floral middle; the woody, musky floor under it is less than a fiftieth. When a formula is mostly fruit and air, it is transparency rather than weight that holds it together.

The power of traces

How three very strong materials, a watery melon note, a sharp green note and a creamy wood, are each kept to well under a thousandth of the batch, so they shape the fruit and the flowers without ever being noticed on their own.

Holding up in a product base

How one bright, clean opening is planned to work both as a fine fragrance and at one hundredth in a shampoo or body wash, where a cool, clean lime-like material of about a tenth keeps the citrus fresh against a soapy base.
