Description

The hush of a ryokan at dawn, in the small dressing room beside the outdoor bath. Steam drifts over the stone pool, a crisp cotton yukata waits folded on pale hinoki wood, and a plate of oranges sits by the misty window. The first impression is a freshly peeled orange — sweet, bright and sunny — with a flash of lemon and the juicy brightness of pineapple and green apple. As it settles, a clean lily of the valley comes forward with a honeyed rose, a powdery touch of violet and the soft flesh of a white peach, kept airy by a gentle lavender freshness.
