A peach built from fruit materials alone soon turns heavy and syrupy. Here one ripe, creamy peach material carries the fruit, a fuller, apricot-like one adds the velvet of the skin, and a trace of a soft fruity material finishes it. Around them, an airy, transparent jasmine material and a creamy lily of the valley material give almost three times as much cool, clean floral, so the peach stays juicy and light — like ripe fruit in a shaded room in the afternoon.

Close to the skin

How a large share of a soft, slightly powdery musk stays close to the skin long after the fruit has faded, laid on a creamy sandalwood.

Working with dilutions

How six very strong materials are weighed as one-tenth solutions in the airy jasmine material — among them a fruity rose kept low to stay within its limit — so each can be dosed exactly and blends in smoothly.
