Bridge notes

Bright citrus flies off within minutes, and a bouquet that only begins once it has gone feels like two perfumes. Here two large floral-citrus materials stand between them: one is the soft, sweet heart of bergamot itself, the other a clean floral between lavender and lily of the valley. Both are among the largest materials in the formula, so the opening fades into the flowers without a gap — like mist lifting from a garden into full morning light.

The power of traces

How a few materials used in the smallest amounts — a sea breeze, open air, a breath of mint, a freshly cut blade of grass — bring in the morning air without becoming a theme of their own.

Working with dilutions

How seven very strong materials are weighed as solutions in the airy jasmine material — five at one tenth, two at one hundredth — so each can be dosed exactly and blends in smoothly.
