Powdery softness

A talc-like softness is rarely one material. Here the powder is shared among many — a violet-orris material, a creamy musk, sweet hay, a heliotrope, vanilla and a balsamic resin — and none of them is larger than the single lily of the valley material at the centre. Because each powder note stays small, the dust settles over the flower instead of burying it, like fine powder drifting over a white bloom in soft light.
