Tying off the trail

Close to half of this formula is made of three balsamic materials that barely smell on their own. They do not lead the scent; they give the flowers a smooth, slow skin to rest on, so a light bouquet of jasmine, lily of the valley and lily stays close and lasts for hours instead of flashing and fading. Like the plain gold screen behind the flowers, the base is felt as a glow, not as a subject.

Transparency

How a transparent jasmine material, about a fifth of the formula, spreads the white flowers wide: it is used on its own and also as the liquid for every diluted material, so its clear air runs through the whole bouquet and lets the tiny, strong flower notes be heard one by one.

Reading regulations

How a limit shapes a formula: the largest balsamic material was lowered just enough that the suggested fine fragrance stays within the EU limit, and the difference went to the clear jasmine material. The suggested doses are part of the formula — a stronger fine fragrance would cross that line.
