Description

Some rooms hold the morning still. A window slides open onto the river, the clay wall warms in the sun, and on dark lacquer someone has set a jar of blue-and-white porcelain crowded with lavender, one pink rose leaning out from the purple stems. This formula is about that quiet moment of arrival, when the room smells of flowers and fresh air at once. It opens clean and herbal, a breath of lavender brightened by citrus. Then the flowers gather: soft rose, fresh jasmine and the cool sweetness of lily of the valley, with a hint of hyacinth and spice. As it settles, the lavender lingers beside a warm, hay-like powder and a faint earthy shade, close and comforting on the skin. A graceful feminine floral for slow mornings, as lovely in a fine fragrance as in a scented hand wash.

What you’ll learn from this formula

One note as a thread

how lavender ties a classic bouquet together

  • Main skill

    Bridge notes

Almost a fifth of this formula belongs to lavender, but not as a single material: the essential oil sits beside three of its own building blocks, a bright, tea-like ester and two clear floral alcohols. Because each of them leaves the blotter at a different pace, the lavender is never just a top note. It opens the formula, keeps running through the heart of rose, jasmine and lily of the valley, and finally rests beside the sweet hay of the base — one thread stitched through the whole bouquet.

  • Supporting skill

    Powdery softness

How a sweet, hay-like material, at about a twentieth of the formula, turns the herbal edge of lavender into a soft powder together with a dusty violet note.

  • Supporting skill

    Reading regulations

How the cool white-flower material of the heart is held just below its legal ceiling for a fine fragrance, and why that sets the strongest dose suggested on the card.
