Description

Kiri Vanilla is a study in softness, a powdered and skin-close vanilla wrapped in white petals and pale wood. It begins with a quick, clean citrus breath, and then a small bouquet of fresh white flowers settles onto something warm and velvety, the way a silk garment feels when it is lifted from its drawer for the first time. As the hours pass, the sweetness deepens toward vanilla bean and sun-dried hay, held up by creamy sandalwood and a cloud of musk that stays close for a long time. It suits an alcoholic fragrance as well as rinse-off care for hair, body and hands, and it shows, calmly and with a feminine grace, how sweetness, powder and wood can share one quiet skin.

What you’ll learn from this formula

A small vanilla over a large musk

how sweetness is set by strength, not by amount

  • Main skill

    Controlling sweetness

Roughly one part in four of this formula is soft, skin-like musk, by far its largest group, yet it hardly speaks: musks of this kind stay low and close. The sweetness you notice belongs to vanilla materials at under a tenth of the batch, one of them far more intense than its partner, with dry hay beside them. Because the musk never competes, a modest dose of vanilla is enough to colour the whole drydown.

  • Supporting skill

    Powdery softness

How a talc-dry musk, an orris-like powder and a trace of green violet leaf turn the sweetness into soft, powdered skin rather than a dessert.

  • Supporting skill

Holding up in a product base

How one concentrate is set for both a fine fragrance and a rinse-off shampoo or wash, keeping its gentle vanilla warmth on clean skin.
