A fougère is built on lavender, herbs, wood and moss. Here the lavender is mostly built from clean single materials rather than a rough natural oil, the herbs — clary sage, rosemary and sage — are kept small and bright, and the wood is a clear apple-skin wood with dry cedar instead of a dark one. A large, clean lime freshness and a very airy jasmine carry it all, and the moss is only a touch, so the classic shape stays while the whole reads freshly washed — fitting both a fine fragrance and a wash.
